Influence of the microstructure of Al–Si alloy on the surface-layer quality in microarc oxidation

The properties of the hardened surface layers formed by microarc oxidation on Al–Si alloy billet are investigated. The microhardness, thickness, and porosity of the surfaces formed depend on the alloy structure.
