Zusammenfassung:This work is a phonetic-phonological description of the consonant system of spoken Mapuche in Huilliche areas in the first years of the second decade of the XXI century. Some Spanish-Mapuzugun bilingual speakers were interviewed in the areas of Lanco, Panguipulli, Maihue, Rupumeica (Region de Los Rios), and Aleucapi (Region de Los Lagos). From this perspective, we seek to stablish the ocurrence of expectable phones of the studied consonants, fluctuation of phonemes, and substitution processes that affect them. The results show a dialect continuum in an area from San Juan de La Costa to the foothills of Los Andes. This area is separated from the northern Region de Los Rios. This leads to a process of tension with two different directions: a conservative one, characterized by the persistence of certain traits of Huilliche, and an adaptive one, characterized by a mutation influenced either from Spanish or Central Mapuche.
