description | As an organization, Midwest Nursing Research Society (MNRS) wants to recognize the excellent work of our members! A wonderful addition to the MNRS annual conference this past year was the identification of the top abstracts submitted for presentation. The Board of Directors (BOD) identified the need to provide more recognition at our meeting. A task force of BOD and Program Planning Committee (PPC) members was then appointed to explore options. The task force worked together last year to identify a process to recognize the best submissions to the MNRS conference. These were deemed “Abstracts of Distinction.” Dr. Patricia Hershberger from the University of Illinois at Chicago led the task force. The process for evaluation is managed by the PPC. All abstract submissions are already scored by reviewers as part of the process for planning the meeting. The top 5% of submissions were then reviewed by a sub-committee to identify nine top abstracts to be designated Distinguished Abstracts. These include all types of submissions: three from oral presentations, three from poster discussions, and three from poster submissions. |
