Sr2Ni3-A Strontium Subnickelide?
Filled or empty? The layered crystal structure of Sr2Ni3 (see graphic) is closely related to that of Sr2N. According to a chemical‐bonding analysis, the intermetallic compound may be described as a strontium subnickelide with the heteropolar formulation [Sr2]2+[Ni3]2−.
