Evolution of hiperreflective points after intravitreal dexamethasone implant injection in patients with macular edema associated with retinal vein occlusion

Purpose To analyse the evolution of macular hyperreflective points (HRP) detected by spectral‐domain optical coherence tomography (SD‐OCT) in eyes with macular edema secondary to retinal vein occlusion (RVO), following treatment with intravitreal dexamethasone implant (Ozurdex®). Methods Retrospecti...

Zusammenfassung:Purpose To analyse the evolution of macular hyperreflective points (HRP) detected by spectral‐domain optical coherence tomography (SD‐OCT) in eyes with macular edema secondary to retinal vein occlusion (RVO), following treatment with intravitreal dexamethasone implant (Ozurdex®). Methods Retrospective observational study of 45 consecutive cases of RVO‐associated macular edema: 13 central RVO and 32 branch RVO treated with Ozurdex®. The relationship between best corrected visual acuity (BCVA), central macular thickness (CMT) and the presence of HRD in SD‐OCT before treatment and two months post‐injection was determined. Results CMT decreased significantly following treatment (527.7 μm vs 308.3 μm, p
