description After four decades of suppression, the Jesuit Society was restored. The lion's share of credit claim General of Jesuits Gabriel Gruber and his younger brothers. Although the Jesuits Gabriel and Tobias Gruber did not live to witness the restoration of their Society, they worked for it all their lives with great success. Early in 1804, Tobias Gruber renewed his vows to the Jesuits under the leadership of his brother General Gabriel. This paper offers new data on collaboration between brothers Tobias and Gabriel. It focuses on their family circumstances in Ljubljana. For the first time in historiography the Ljubljana work of the youngest of Gruber brothers, the professor of mathematics Anton is put in the limelight. Additionally, the Ljubljana circumstances of their mother and stepfather in Villa Podroznik are discussed.
