ChemInform Abstract: Effect of Aqueous Polyethylene Glycol on 1,3-Dipolar Cycloaddition of Benzoylnitromethane/Ethyl 2-Nitroacetate with Dipolarophiles: Green Synthesis of Isoxazoles and Isoxazolines

It is demonstrated that a 1:1 mixture of water and polyethylene glycol 400 promotes the 1,3‐dipolar cycloaddition of carbonyl substituted nitromethanes (I) to terminal alkynes or analogously activated olefins without the need for any catalyst or additive.
