ChemInform Abstract: Hydrated Ferric Sulfate Catalyzed Synthesis of 3-[(Alkyl/Arylthio)(aryl)methyl]-1H-indole Derivatives Through One-Pot Reaction

A one‐pot three‐component reaction of indoles, aromatic aldehydes, and a range of mercaptans in the presence of hydrated ferric sulfate as the catalyst gives 3‐substituted indoles (IV) and (VII) in moderate yields.
