Zusammenfassung:In a previous paper one of us found that the observed preponderance of first born children among patients of child guidance clinics might easily be an artefact due to age selection. That conclusion was based on the two child family only. In the three child family group available for study at that time, the preponderance of first born was so slight that formal investigation was unnecessary. However, additional material has become available since that time in which there is a clear-cut preponderance of first born. In the present paper, the effect of age selection is studied in the three child family. (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2019 APA, all rights reserved)
