ChemInform Abstract: Reactions of Tetrahydropyrido[4,5-d][1,2,4]triazolo[1,5-a]-pyrimidin-4-ones with Activated Alkynes. Synthesis of [1,2,4]Triazolo[1,5:1,2]pyrimido[4,5-d]azocines

Reaction of readily available tetrahydropyridotriazolopyrimidines (III) with activated alkynes in refluxing MeOH affords the title triazolopyrimidoazocines (V) via a tandem expansion of the tetrahydropyridine ring.
