Zusammenfassung:Analysis of EC trade in 57 agricultural products, with 36 of the most important developing countries reveals that an EC import expansion would significantly benefit the exports of these countries in most products. An index of EC-wide resistance to import expansion is subsequently defined and estimated for all products. The results suggest that for the major products of export interest to developing countries, the EC market is very resistant to non-growth induced expansion of extra-EC imports.
