Zusammenfassung: | Among major Canadian cities few exhibit more basic similarities of situation, size, function and historical development than Regina and Saskatoon. Both are essentially service centres for extensive agricultural hinterlands in the heart of the Canadian Prairies. For a wide range of higher order services the province effectively is split into two tributary areas focused on Regina and Saskatoon. Rivals of long standing, they have jealously guarded their territories throughout the years and have paralleled each other in urban growth. |
