This reviews ATHELAS Sinfonietta Copenhagen's concert on January 25, 2004 at Midem in Cannes, France. Compared to the flashy exhibits at Midem, Aidt wishes the concert involved more for the eye. Classical music performances should include lighting, or close-ups of musicians and the orchestra on a big screen. Aidt did not feel the Danish musicians were dressed appropriately. Aidt saw audience members listening with their hands covering their eyes. They applauded enthusiastically, the music must have mattered more. If classical music wants to attract new audiences, it needs to revamp its concert presentation.
