Zusammenfassung: | Anesthesia was induced by a TIVA technique using 1% propofol and remifentanil 50 μg/mL with the Asena PK pump (Alaris Medical Systems, Inc, San Diego, CA). Because there is a potential for perioperative blood loss after breast surgery, the patient had a 16-gauge cannula inserted for TIVA as well as intravenous (IV) fluids. In a survey done by Halkes and Snow [1], it was reported that 54% of consultants reuse some components of the infusion system, and 69% believe that the one-way valve confers additional protection against contamination. |
