Zusammenfassung:Experimental prototype wires with low AC losses intended for the use in the magnet systems of the SIS100 and SIS300 synchrotrons of FAIR have been fabricated and investigated. A wide database on J c and AC losses has been obtained for the wires that have a 3-4 micron filament diameter and a Cu-0.5 % Mn interfilament matrix. Cable samples based on these wires have been fabricated and AC losses have been measured. Recent results are presented for the performance of NbTi/Cu-Mn/Cu wires of new designs with 0.5 mm, 0.79 mm and 0.825 mm in diameter.
