Zusammenfassung: | This study aimed to analyze beyond of computed photogrammetry the postural deviations of lower limbs and their correlation with body mass index of scholars. Research had descriptive character, with cross-sectional and quantitative analysis of data. The sample was composed by 30 students of both sexes and aged 14-16 years from a public school of Montes Claros - MG, being randomly selected by convenience. This study was approved by Ethics Committee in Research from Unimontes no 2371/11. All participants were submitted to weight and size analysis for determination of BMI and postural examination by computed photogrammetry. In data treatment, it was recurred to descriptive statistical, to the Shapiro-Wilk tests (adherence to normality), t test for independent samples (analysis between the genders) and Pearson correlation, with p ≤ .05. In results, it was evidenced that the BMI between the sexes does not presented significant statistically difference (p = .324), being that the boys obtained an average of 23.34 ± 4.34) and the girls obtained 24.80 ± 3.50 kg/m^sup 2^. The main postural changes encountered in boys were the pelvic anteversion (92.9%), bilateral varus (64.3%) and right crouching (57.1%). But the girls presented anteversion (81.3%), left valgus (56.3%) and crouching (50%). However, it were identified significant differences between the genders in crouching (p = .049), pelvic anteversion (p = .034), right Q angle (p = .019) and left Q angle (p = .015). Thought, it was observed a correlation between BMI and main postural deviations of lower limbs. [PUBLICATION ABSTRACT] |
