Zusammenfassung: | Textiles are used to manufacture clothes as well as to provide structure to frameworks. It provides children with the opportunity to develop fine motor skills by cutting, drawing around templates, sewing, etc. Before the industrial revolution, textiles were mainly made in people's homes; consequently, it was known as a cottage industry. Many people spent their whole lives turning raw cotton into threads using a spinning wheel. The threads were spun one at a time and they were then woven on looms in order to make fabric. Modern textiles have super properties', such as fire resistance, temperature regulation and knife/bullet proofing thus extending their uses to more than simply covering something. Electronic textiles (e-textiles) are innovative textile materials that incorporate digital components and electronics directly into the textile itself. Many smart clothes involve the use of e-textiles and remain comfortable as the wires and hard electronics are eliminated, so all one feel is the textile.
