Zusammenfassung: | Planners and emergency managers are currently at the forefront of hazard risk reduction efforts at
the community level in the United States. Many of these same people are leading the way as communities seek to deal with climate change and become more resilient. This chapter presents two
essays, one by a community planner with years of experience working in hazard risk reduction and
one authored by a local emergency manager who has toiled for years in the world of communitybased disaster mitigation. The two essays examine how the fields of planning and emergency management can help guide the integration of climate change adaptation planning and actions into
building resilient communities. |
