Local magnetic susceptibility at 140Ce in RNi5 compounds: R = rare earth
Using TDPAC technique with 140Ce probe nuclei we measured the paramagnetic enhancement factor β in RNi5 compounds (R = La, Ce, Pr). The result that β is close to 1 indicates that cerium is nonmagnetic in these compounds, as in the case of α-cerium.
