Demonstration of the Thoracic Duct by 123I Heptadecanoic Acid

The thoracic duct was visualized following ingestion of 123I heptadecanoic acid in a healthy volunteer and in a patient with a growing chyle cyst. The visualization indicated that operative removal of the cyst would not interfere with the lymphatic drainage from the intestines.
