Effect of time delay on system performance via single term Walsh series approach

A simple, effective analytic method is developed to obtain optimal control of linear delay systems via the single term Walsh series (STWS) approach. An example shows that the value of the performance index increases as the delay increases in the state variable. Hence it may be noted that a small value of delay yields better performance.
