Zusammenfassung:The reliability of our calculated hyperfine fields and magnetic moments in R2Fe14B compounds is critically discussed in view of the comments given by Long et al. [J. Magn. Magn. Mater. 125 (1993) L29]. It is admitted that our assignment of the largest hyperfine field to the 16k2 site is not compatible with the relative intensity found for the corresponding Mössbauer subspectrum. On the other hand, the calculations yield the correct trend for the respective average hyperfine field across the series of R2Fe14B compounds, and they strongly prefer the assignment of the lowest hyperfine field to the 4e site. It is argued that the magnetic moments are determined with high accuracy if the calculations are performed at the present state of art.
