Direct Measurement of Collisional Energy Transfer Between Highly Vibrationally Excited Triplet Fluorenone and Bath Gases

Intensities and decay rates of CO 2 -laser induced delayed fluorescence are used to probe collisional relaxation of vibrationally excited fluorenone diluted with bath gases: He, N 2 , Kr. The average energies ⟨ΔE⟩ transferred per collision are found to vary with vibrational energy, the energy depend...

Zusammenfassung:Intensities and decay rates of CO 2 -laser induced delayed fluorescence are used to probe collisional relaxation of vibrationally excited fluorenone diluted with bath gases: He, N 2 , Kr. The average energies ⟨ΔE⟩ transferred per collision are found to vary with vibrational energy, the energy dependences of the collisional efficiency eventually level off.
