Zusammenfassung: | The average bit error rate of a millimeter-wave over fiber (MMoF) system is numerically analyzed considering a laser phase noise under Rician fading. In an optical link of the MMoF system, an optical single side band (OSSB) signal is generated to reduce power degradation due to fiber chromatic dispersion and a direct detection is employed for cost-effectiveness. In a wireless link, a coherent detection is adopted since a phase fluctuation can be tracked for a small phase noise. The results show that the influence of the laser phase noise due to a laser diode (LD) with the linewidth of 642 MHz such as a Fabry-Perot (FP) LD on the MMoF system is negligible when the fiber length of 4 km for a macro cellular system and a millimeter-wave frequency of 28 GHz for a local multipoint distribution system (LMDS) are employed under the Rician factor K of 8 dB. |
