Zusammenfassung:The behaviour of a conductivity probe in electrolytic liquid/solid suspensions (CaCO\+v\3\-v\ particles in aqueous NaCl solution) within a turbulent flow has been studied for various solid volume fractions and particle sizes. The conductivity signal exhibits an appreciable fluctuating component at higher solid volume fractions. On the other hand, the mean electrolyte concentration measured is lower, due to the suspended particles. The effect of the suspended particles on the electrolyte depends mainly upon their concentration. This effect can be substantially reduced by calibrating the conductivity probe in electrolytic liquid/solid suspensions of the appropriate particle volume fractions. The effect is also drastically reduced when the solids volume fraction is lower than 5%. (Abstract quotes from original text)
