The results show a strong influence of the miscibility gap in the system Fe‐Al‐Ca arising from the Fe‐Ca binary system on the phase equilibria. By these investigations the conditions of solid alumina reduction by dissolved calcium to liquid calcium aluminate were determined. In reinen Kalk‐ (CaO) und Kalkaluminat‐ (CaO‐2Al2O3) Tiegeln sind bei 1600°C die Gleichgewichte der an diesen festen Phasen gesättigten CaO‐Al2O3‐FeOn‐Schlacken mit Ca‐Al‐und O‐haltigen Eisenschmelzen untersucht worden, deren Eisenmassengehalte von 0 bis fast 100% variiert wurden. Die Ergebnisse zeigen den starken Einfluß der im System Fe‐Al‐Ca vom Randsystem Fe‐Ca ausgehenden Mischungslücke auf und stecken den Bereich der Ca‐ und Al‐Gehalte ab, in dem das Ca in der Lage ist, die Tonerde der Al‐Desoxidation durch Reduktion in flüssige Kalkaluminate umzuwandeln.
