PPD2-3The action of the Reproductive Care with Cancer by infertility nurse

Abstract Cancer survivor might have unexpected fertility problem sometime after the cancer treatments. We thought the patients need the counseling and infertility treatments before the cancer treatments in order to improve the quality of life "QOL". We, St.Luke's International Hospital, had opened the clinic of "Reproductive consultation for cancer patients" in 2006. We can counsel for cancer patients or the parents of cancer children; furthermore, we are available for infertility treatments such as cryopreservation for sperm, ocyte, fertilized ovum, and ovarian tissues. The patients can't understand easily correct knowledge of infertility treatments because they are mentally confusing in critical phase of cancer and unexpected fertility problems. We have to be careful for each patient because some patients have over expectations or stereotype for infertility treatments. During limited time until cancer treatment, we need to make "hearing" from the patients and their family to respect their requirement and organize the information what is important or value in their life, what do they want to do with their family and obtain their understanding. Based on the discussion with patients and family we will support them to make their decision. Since, the cancer treatment is the high priority in their life; however, they can't make fertility requirement depends on her body condition or family environment. We support patient, her partner, her family can duly understand for fertility treatment and then to make best decision for "Fertility Preservation". We have to make close cooperation between "Cancer facility Centre" and "Reproductive Centre". I will present problems and actions in our hospital "Reproductive consultation for cancer patients".
