Precise measurements of the branching fractions of the B$^{0}|_{s}$ → J/ψφ and B$^{0}_{s}$ → D$^{-}_{s}$π+ decays are performed, reducing their uncertainty by about a factor of 2 with respect to previous world averages. Numerous B$^{0}_{s}$ decay branching fractions, measured at the LHCb experiment, are also updated using the new values of fs/fd and branching fractions of normalization channels. These results reduce a major source of systematic uncertainty in several searches for new physics performed through measurements of B$^{0}|_{s}$ branching fractions. |

D</jtitle><date>2021-08-20</date><risdate>2021</risdate><volume>104</volume><issue>3</issue><issn>2470-0010</issn><abstract>The ratio of the B$^{0}_{s}$ and B0 fragmentation fractions, fs/fd, in proton-proton collisions at the LHC, is obtained as a function of B-meson transverse momentum and collision center-of-mass energy from the combined analysis of different B-decay channels measured by the LHCb experiment. The results are described by a linear function of the meson transverse momentum or with a function inspired by Tsallis statistics. Precise measurements of the branching fractions of the B$^{0}|_{s}$ → J/ψφ and B$^{0}_{s}$ → D$^{-}_{s}$π+ decays are performed, reducing their uncertainty by about a factor of 2 with respect to previous world averages. Numerous B$^{0}_{s}$ decay branching fractions, measured at the LHCb experiment, are also updated using the new values of fs/fd and branching fractions of normalization channels. These results reduce a major source of systematic uncertainty in several searches for new physics performed through measurements of B$^{0}|_{s}$ branching fractions.</abstract><cop>United States</cop><pub>American Physical Society (APS)</pub><doi>10.1103/PhysRevD.104.032005</doi><orcidid>https://orcid.org/0000000258313398</orcidid><orcidid>https://orcid.org/0000000341068258</orcidid><orcidid>https://orcid.org/0000000168678166</orcidid><orcidid>https://orcid.org/0000000260025870</orcidid><orcidid>https://orcid.org/0000000246729484</orcidid><oa>free_for_read</oa></addata></record> |
