Through proposing neologisms and promoting less well-known terms, we wish to propel interdisciplinary discussion, and by extension accelerate the pace of action.
Through this lexicon we propose that the science around climate change is developing so rapidly that we need new language to articulate its processes and effects. The lexicon is also based on the recognition that evolving science produces evolving policy, and politics must be commensurate with this. The first set of lexicon terms were collected in the Reading Room journal in 2014 and can be found on this site. The terms in this current issue have been developed and defined by the credited authors, as well as by The Distance Plan while in residence at The Potsdam Institute of Climate Impact Research (PIK).</description><language>eng</language><publisher>The Distance Plan Press</publisher><subject>Artists' writings ; Climatic changes ; Critical Theory ; Political science</subject><creationdate>2016</creationdate><rights>CC BY-NC-SA</rights><woscitedreferencessubscribed>false</woscitedreferencessubscribed></display><links><openurl>$$Topenurl_article</openurl><openurlfulltext>$$Topenurlfull_article</openurlfulltext><thumbnail>$$Tsyndetics_thumb_exl</thumbnail><link.rule.ids>781,785,25350</link.rule.ids><linktorsrc>$$Uhttps://www.librarystack.org/climate-change-art-a-lexicon/?ref=pq$$EView_record_in_Library_Stack$$FView_record_in_$$GLibrary_Stack</linktorsrc><backlink>$$Uhttps://www.librarystack.org/climate-change-art-a-lexicon/?ref=pq$$DView record in Library Stack$$Hfree_for_read</backlink></links><search><creatorcontrib>Abby Cunnane</creatorcontrib><creatorcontrib>Amy Howden-Chapman</creatorcontrib><creatorcontrib>Lina Moe</creatorcontrib><creatorcontrib>Louise Menzies</creatorcontrib><creatorcontrib>Aslak Aamot Kjærulff</creatorcontrib><creatorcontrib>Laura Adler</creatorcontrib><creatorcontrib>Ralph Chapman</creatorcontrib><creatorcontrib>Thomas Bruhn</creatorcontrib><creatorcontrib>James Dann</creatorcontrib><creatorcontrib>T.J.
