Zusammenfassung:This study analyzed the coverage of the 2004 Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games by the South Korean national newspaper, the Chosun Ilbo. Quantitative methods were used to compare the amount and size of the coverage devoted to the 2004 Summer Olympic Games (August 13-30, 2004) and Paralympic Games (September 17-30, 2004) for both articles and photographs. A total of 277 articles (Olympics 261, Paralympics 16) and 237 photographs (Olympics 220, Paralympics 17) were analyzed. For articles and photographs, z-scores for proportion in size and chi-square (χ2) in frequency were used to determine difference of the coverage between the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
