Zusammenfassung: | Pancreatic arteriovenous malformation is rare. It may be asymptomatic, but the most common symptom is gastrointestinal bleeding. We report a case of pancreatic arteriovenous malformation with recurrent episodes of melena. To our knowledge, this is the first report of pancreatic arteriovenous malformation in Korea. A 38-year-old male patient visited our emergency room because of repeated melena and hematochezia. He underwent angiography and transarterial embolization to stop the bleeding. A pancreaticoduodenectomy (Whipple's operation) was performed as the definitive treatment. The pathology of the resected specimen showed multiple tortuous vessels with dilation in the pancreatic head. (Kor J Gastroenterol 2000;36:276 - 279) |
