Eine Anmerkung zur logischen Struktur von „Goldene-Regel“-Argumenten im Sinne Hares

In chapter 6 of his book Freedom and Reason Richard Mervyn Hare exemplifies a simple form of his so-called 'golden-rule'-arguments by means of his wellknown 'debtor-example' (section I). Critics objected that these arguments as developed by Hare do not reach their aim (section II), and hence devised some strategies for making them conclusive (section III). I shall argue that these rescue efforts are defective or at least unnecessary; for Hare himself did in fact give a perfectly satisfactory solution in Freedom and Reason (sections IV, V). The key to his solution is the exclusion of morally indifferent actions. The exclusion of morally indifferent actions, however, demands a weighing of interests (section VI).
