Zusammenfassung:	Turkish immigration and refugee policies have been biased in favor of people of Turkish descent and culture and then only as long as such persons were of Sunni-Hanefi background. Its refugee policies allowed asylum to more than 310,000 Bulgarian Turks and Pomaks in 1989, while denying a similar possibility to Kurdish asylum seekers who fled to Turkey in 1988 and 1991.
