Doubly infected leaves had significantly higher amount of dry weight but lesser amount of moisture, chlorophylls, and carbohydrates as compared to healthy leaves. Starch content increased irrespective of nature of infection. Studi sull'influenza delle infezioni singole o miste del virus e del fungo in foglie di Cantalupo cv. Hara, hanno messo in evidenza una variabilità del peso secco, del contenuto idrico, del contenuto di clorofilla totale, clorofilla 'a', clorofilla 'b', zuccheri totali (riducenti e non) e di amido, a seconda della natura dell'infezione. Nei confronti delle foglie sane, le foglie infettate artificialmente con entrambi i parassiti hanno mostrato un alto peso secco e un minore contenuto idrico, di clorofilla e di carboidrati. Il contenuto di amido è risultato piu alto indipendentemente dalla natura delle infezioni.
