Zusammenfassung:A noval method to improve the 'tonal signature contrast' (TSC) of the earth resources imagery obtained over an integrated band of visible and near IR regions of the spectrum is presented. This adopts filtering of the optical frequencies over selective regions and was found to give 75 % enhancement in 'TSC' over the classical methods. If used as an onboard smart sensor for image classification, the present system will be simple and most effective.
