description An investigation was made of the characteristics of stimulated emission of short light pulses in a transverse magnetic field. Conditions for simultaneous emission at two frequencies corresponding to the F '=3..--> -->..F=4 and F '=2..-->..F=2 transitions. In magnetic fields of 0--800 Oe intensity the frequencies of the sigma Zeeman components of the above 3--4 and 2--2 transitions coincided with the central frequencies of the corresponding transitions in the luminescence spectrum of atomic iodine in the absence of a magnetic field.
