Multi-banded coherent WDM transmission

The world's first 1.5 Tbit/s multi-banded coherent-WDM system is demonstrated, in which five co-polarised bands of 298 Gbit/s-NRZ channels are transmitted over 80.4 km of SMF-28e® in a simple cost-effective arrangement, with an aggregate spectral efficiency of 0.83 b/s/Hz. (2 pages)
