Multiple-output Er/sup 3+/ fiber amplifier for analog and QAM distribution systems

We describe the performance of a low noise and high power four-output Er/sup 3+/-Yb/sup 3+/ fiber amplifier for the distribution of analog video and data signals. Successful fiber transmission links of 77 NTSC analog CATV channels and 34 6 MHz 64-QAM channels are demonstrated.
