The parametric interactions in nonlinear crystals may provide an efficient way of vortex transformation. The nearly nondiffracting Bessel vortices are of special interest. We investigate type II phase-matched second harmonic (SH) generation of the Bessel vortex in KTP and LiNbO/sub 3/ crystals.
