description In this paper, the authors propose a new control method of a separately excited DC traction motor using fuzzy logic. The superior results in the drive performance, which are achieved by fuzzy logic controller, are provided. The proposed controller exhibits superior transient and steady state performance compared to the usual PID controllers.
