description | Cloud Computing and Internet of Things (IoT) are currently two of the most popular ICT paradigms that are expected to shape the next era of computing. The convergence between cloud computing and IoT has become a hot topic over the last few years because of the benefits that IoT could have from the distributed nature of cloud computing infrastructures. This paper proposes a new platform for using cloud computing capacities for provision and support of ubiquitous connectivity and real-time applications and services for smart cities' needs. We present a framework for data procured from highly distributed, heterogeneous, decentralized, real and virtual devices (sensors, actuators, smart devices) that can be automatically managed, analyzed and controlled by distributed cloud-based services. |
