description | Due to the increasing importance of communication networking, the electric power supply system has been considered as a good candidate for the "last mile solution". Power line communications (PLC) term stands for the technologies for the data communication over the electrical power supply network. As power line medium was not designed for data transmission and the power line channel shows hostile properties for communication signal transmission (e.g., noise, multi path, strong channel selectivity), the development of adequate PLC systems requires analysis of communication properties that power line channel offers. This paper introduces a computer simulation model of OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) based power line communication system in order to speed up analysis and improvements of PLC systems. |
