description In this paper, we present an adaptive transmission power control in cluster-based routing to enhance performance of information dissemination in Vehicular Ad-hoc Networks (VANETs). In our scheme, transmission power is adapted based on the distance between vehicles and cluster head. The proposed algorithm also considers the uncertainty of vehicle mobility to achieve better performance in real situation. Extensive simulations have demonstrated that the proposed scheme shows better throughput and lower average transmission delay compared to constant power transmission scheme.
