Experimental validation of a simple approximate relation between laser frequency noise and linewidth

We present an experimental validation of a simple geometrical approximation of the laser linewidth calculated from its frequency noise spectrum, agreeing within the experimental uncertainty with the actual value over a wide range of linewidths.
