description In this contribution we describe an experience about the use of open source software for the realization of Master Thesis (MT) projects. A collaborative learning methodology has been designed. Despite of its doubtless educational value, the introduced tool also presents a significant research dimension. At this moment, the importance of Open source technologies in all the TIC areas is undeniable. Students must acquire competencies in this technology during their studies. Later on, during further education, they can use the basic acquired tech skills in their respective professional disciplines. Team working derives from collaborative methodologies at any level. In this paper we introduce a collaborative experience at the Master Thesis level.
