description | Nowadays, handover is a critical issue for real-time applications in wireless networks. In this paper we propose more efficient handover solution with reducing the number of handover packet for the mobile station (MS) in handover process to scan. It is based on a concept of BSs channel information with a group-based scan technique. The base stations (BSs) choose the number of channel and indicate to MS at wait scan (WS) state. Th e MS at WS state gets target BSs information in advance. Other MSs can get BSs information from MS at WS state for handover. Through this group-based scheme, the number of traffic and handover time was reduced in handover process. Our performance evaluation shows that the proposed solution can result average 5% reduction in the handover latency from presented handover procedure. |
