Zusammenfassung: | In this paper, we investigate a mobility procedure for mode II personal/portable TV Band Devices (TVBDs). There is a possibility of forced termination probability (FTP) or blocking probability (BP) in the TV White Space (TVWS) while portable TVBDs are moving. This is because the availability of TVWS is dependent on the location and time schedule of licensed devices and other unlicensed networks. In order to support mobility efficiently, the concept of multiple geo-location capability of the FCC's rule is introduced. The mobility of multiple geo-location capability is evaluated compared to single geo-location capability. In addition, we investigate on which multiple access technique is better for portable TVBD networks considering a mobile TVWS environment. To reduce the outage probability of Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) which could not obtain diversity from soft handover, we propose a handover procedure based on subcarrier selection scheme. Simulation results show that the multiple geo-location capability enhances the mobility in terms of FTP, BP and delay. It is also shown that the proposed handover procedure using the multiple geo-location capability reduces the outage probability by obtaining the selection diversity. |
