Carbon emissions assessment of autoclaved building materials

An comprehensive case study the carbon emissons assessment(CEA) of building materials was conducted by using the example of the autoclaved fly ash bricks. The carbon emissions and the percentage of each part to the total carbon emissions was estimated in this paper. The results show that the carbon...

description An comprehensive case study the carbon emissons assessment(CEA) of building materials was conducted by using the example of the autoclaved fly ash bricks. The carbon emissions and the percentage of each part to the total carbon emissions was estimated in this paper. The results show that the carbon dioxide emissions(CDE) of 1m 3 fly ash bricks is estimated to be 435.92kg, the carbon emissions of raw materials(CERM) account for 81.6% of the total emissions, the carbon emissions of raw material preparation(CERMP) account for 65.8%, the carbon emissions of material transportation(CERMT) account for 0.1%; the carbon emissions of raw material preparation(CEBMP) account for 18.4% of the total carbon emissions. The results can provide the basis for the production of low carbon building materials.
