Zusammenfassung:In this work the results on oscillation properties of new Pr 3+ doped SrF 2 ceramics are firstly presented. Visible 639 nm red laser oscillation in SrF 2 fluoride ceramics was obtained in CW mode of operation without any special cooling with slope efficiency above 9%. Estimated optical losses in SrF2:Pr ceramic sample were similar to that obtained for previously tested IR SrF 2 :Nd 3+ ceramics.
