Using the method of ecological footprint calculates the ecological footprint, ecological carrying capacity and ecological deficit of Shijiazhuang in 1996 and 2000 and 2006 during 1996 to 2006, Besides, do the comparison with other areas at home and abroad. The results shows that the ecological carrying capacity of Shijiazhuang decreased from 0.3616hm 2 /cap to 0.3227hm 2 /cap in 11 years while the ecological footprint increased 2.4893 hm 2 /cap to 4.690 hm 2 /cap, Compared with other areas, the ecological footprint and ecological deficit far exceeds the national average in most areas.
